Arrived here in Wellington on a working visa way back in May 2010. My initial plan was to attempt seasonal work while getting to visit all the amazing places that NZ has to offer. Had never had a OE when I was younger, I had gone straight into work from school as an Animal Care Assistant before training to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse. So at the grand age of 35 yrs it was now or never to do my overseas trip. I arrived into Wellington with my partner Stephen when we were just under 3 months into our 12 month trip. The seasonal work option very quickly went out of the window. I wanted to work as a nurse, no other job would do and as luck would have it I found the perfect job working for Central Veterinary Hospital.
Fast forward five years later and I am still working at the Central Vet Hospital. Love everything about nursing, have just started a two year diploma course in Feline Nursing run by the great International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM).
Have now settled into the suburb of Crofton Downs and will be looking forward to getting to know you all.
